Overview
Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is a 20-character, alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies legally distinct entities participating in financial transactions worldwide. In India, LEI is mandatory for entities dealing in OTC derivatives, forex markets, and those making RTGS/NEFT payments above Rs. 50 crore. LEI is issued by Legal Entity Identifier India Ltd (LEIL).
